日本語複合助詞の文法化 : 「によって」と「について」を例に Grammatikalisierung komplexer Postpositionen im Japanischen : Der Fall von ni-yotte und ni-tsuite 島, 令子 NARUSE-SHIMA, Ryoko 文法化 通時的変化 助詞 日本語 動詞意味論 grammaticalization diachronic change postposition Japanese verbal semantics This paper examines two Japanese complex postpositions, ni-yotte and ni-tsuite, which are attached to nouns to indicate instrumental, causal, relative and some other meanings. Historically speaking, these postpositions were developed from two verbs respectively, yoruto draw nearer/to approachand tsukuto attach/to adhere, whose coremeanings point to something moving toward another object and finally coming in contact with it. On the other hand, these postpositions are further developed into conjunctions to connect independent sentences.
