A Bulgakov and pointed out that this work has hardly been examined from the point of the dramatic art. In this paper, I studied this masterpiece not only from the point of the dramatic art, but also from the historical point of view.  In the main chapters, I examined the situation of the artists and the writers during the Soviet Union regime in Russia, and uncovered the reason why the ballet, "Masters and Margarita", directed by Mai Murdmaa, an Estonian artist, was secretly put on the stage of the Tallinn National Opera/Ballet Theatre in 1986.  The main contribution of the present paper is that it discovered the stage directions of "Masters and Margarita", which had completely disappeared from the records. Performances of ballet were stopped by the censorship of the Soviet Government after it had been performed only three times. All the stage directions were lost but hav now been gathered from the very few materials I found. In this paper, the whole picture of the historically and academically valuable stage directions of the ballet, "Masters and Margarita" is brought to light.  Throughout this paper, I have revealed the complexities of M. A. Bulgakov's style and the complexities we encounter when we try to interprete the opera literature by M. A. Bulgakov, who was a writer, a philosopher, a romantist, and a humorous satirist.}, pages = {175--196}, title = {「巨匠とマルガリータ」の演出の復元}, volume = {31}, year = {2004} }
