社を事例に取り、全国労働協約とともに、そのポイントをまとめた資料Educational Outline をベースに検討するものである。\n　国際競争の激化により、職場における生産性・作業効率の向上が求められているアメリカ自動車工場であるが、そもそも工場で従業員に課せられた作業負荷について、それを規定する協約の分析がまったく十分に行われてこなかった。（自動化などの議論を抜きにすれば）職場の能率を上げるためには、単純に考えて作業者の作業負担をどの水準まで上げられるかということは無視できないものである。作業負荷をめぐって紛争が絶えなかったのが、アメリカ労使関係の歴史である。しかしながら、これら職場における作業負担水準決定メカニズムである、プロダクション・スタンダード条項については未解明の領域であった。\n　そこで本稿では、こうした作業負荷水準の決定について規定している全国協約第68 ・69 条のプロダクション・スタンダード条項を分析する。ただし本稿では、協約自体のみならず、その組合員向け解説書であるEducational Outline
