社会科学系列"}]}]},"item_10002_description_5":{"attribute_name":"抄録","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_description":"古在由直（1864.1934）は、明治期の日本農学を代表する研究者のひとりである。東京帝国大学農科大学教授となり、さらに農科大学学長に就任し、その後に東京帝国大学総長に就任する。その功績には顕著なものがあり、その評価は高い。しかしながら古在が足尾銅山鉱毒事件に関わったこと、わが国の大学で初めて停年制を実施したことなどは、大学教授職としての視点から、これまで評価がなされてこなかった。\n　本稿は古在の事績を再評価することによって、農科大学の課題と大学教授職の役割を考察する。ごく最近に至るまでわが国では、大学教授職は研究と教育に携わることに限定されてきたが、古在による農科大学の帝国大学への移管、足尾銅山鉱毒事件の調査、農芸化学の確立、農業研究教育機関の整備、停年制の実施、関東大震災後の対応などの事績は、今後の大学教授職の役割を考えるうえで示唆に富んでいる。\n　古在は京都での少年時代の勉学、駒場農学校でのケルネルの教えなどによって、科学的知識の獲得というよりも、科学的態度や科学的方法を学ぶ。これが古在の科学者精神の核となり、大学教授職に就任後もこの精神が生かされる。わが国の大学は科学的知識や西欧からの知識の摂取において、制度面での葛藤を繰り返したが、それと同時に閉鎖性という特徴を強めた。さらに大学教授市場の非流動性も進んだ。この過程で教授職については、研究教育という限定された面でしか語られなくなる。\n　古在は農科大学の移管にあたって、他の分科大学よりも劣る点は、大学教授職の人材不足であると語る。したがって教授職としての役割は、研究教育体制の整備であり、それによる人材養成であるという。停年制の実施も、この考え方に基づいたものであった。停年制は計画的人事を可能とするので、人材養成につながる。古在は足尾銅山鉱毒問題の土壌調査や政府の会議を通じて、科学は社会とのつながりが必要であることを痛感し、さらに科学のあり方と大学のあり方は密接に関わっていることを感じる。\n　しかし科学は「象牙の塔」の構築に多くの労力をはらうようになり、古在が強調した社会とのつながりを急激に失っていく。これは国際社会からの隔絶をも意味した。古在は学生に対しても、その人格修養につとめるように説いているが、人格修養は閉鎖的な場では困難である。科学は本質的に閉鎖性をもつものであるので、古在はそれに対して常に警鐘を鳴らしていた。\n　古在によれば、科学の形成、社会問題への取り組み、研究教育体制の整備は、それぞれ無関係のものではない。科学者精神の発揮という共通点をもつ。したがって大学教授職の役割を考える場合には、単に教育と研究という側面からではなく、社会とのつながり、研究教育体制の整備という側面からも考える必要がある。","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_10002_description_6":{"attribute_name":"内容記述","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_description":"１
