| 内容記述 | Since the literature established that maintaining a favorable mental state improves workers’ performance, corporate health and productivity management (H&PM) started focusing on maintaining employees’ mental health. Some corporate managers are providing their employees with consultations on lifestyles such as exercise and sleeping habits, following the medical finding that lifestyle habits have a significant impact on mental state. This study explores what intervention to modify lifestyles an employer should make to improve mental health and performance of workers. We conducted a logistic regression analysis targeting onset of mental illnesses, and applied it to large-scale public corporate health insurance claims data from Japan combined with lifestyle data collected via wearable devices of workers. The analysis revealed that having a daily time-in-bed exceeding seven hours was positively related to the onset of depressions. We also recognized that insufficient daily exercise time shorter than 22 minutes can also trigger depressive symptoms. The results suggest corporate managers should include the intervention to employees’ lifestyle habits to achieve the targeted levels of sleeping and exercise times into the H&PM program. | |||||
