In the beginning of January 2014, outbreaks of HPAI occurred in the South Korean domestic-duck industry. Subtype of causative influenza virus was H5N8 derived from H5N1 one; that disaster spread to almost whole country; and more than 12 million poultry reared in South Korea have been culled.\n　In the middle of April 2014, an outbreak of HPAI occurred in a meat-type-chicken-rearing farm located in the mountains of Kumamoto prefecture and subtype of the causative agent was also H5N8.
