The Modern Spiritualism is a movement based on the belief that we can take contact with the dead through the assistance of a medium. As a distinguished medium-painter, Crépin heard the voice of the Spirit and created more than four hundreds oil paintings. Today he is regarded as one of the representative painters of The Outsider Art in the Art history. But we forget often the fact that he participated assiduously in the Spiritism. In this article, we try to demonstrate that his activities of the Spiritualism encouraged him to invent the original expression.
