| 内容記述 | While almost everyone (at least in first world countries) has seen the latest Hollywood science fiction creations, with their incredible visions of the future aided by evermore fantastic special effects, the study of the future, Futures Studies, is a relatively unknown area of concern and research. In this essay, a brief background of Futures Studies and its concerns will be followed by the discussion of a course in Futures Studies that has been taught at Kyoto Sangyo University for the last five years - how the course was conceived, the appropriateness of the area to the students, and finally how the course “empowers” students to construct and reach for a “preferred future.” | |||||
