| 内容記述 | ウォーラーステインの「近代世界システム」は産業資本主義の理論にもとづいているので，近世の商業資本主義時代の支配= 収奪関係をうまく説明することができない。そもそもウォーラーステインは，ヨーロッパ人がみずからの船で他地域に進出し，流通網を支配していったことを軽視している。すなわち，ヨーロッパ拡大における海の重要性を理解していない。ここでは，「海からみた近代世界システム」を提唱する。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | ‘The Modern World System’ advocated by I. Wallerstein is based upon the theory of Industrial Capitalism, so that he cannot explain the dominance‐dependence relations of Merchant Capitalism in early modern period. Wallerstein underestimates the fact that Europeans advanced into other areas by sea routes and came to control the distribution network. In other words, he does not understand the role of ‘seas’ in the age of European expansion to the non-European World. In this paper I suggest ‘The Modern World System seen from Seas’ to explore why Europe dominated the World. | |||||
